My first teaching experience was at Hale Mohala Montessori School, while I was still a college student. From 1983 through 1988, I was a substitute teacher, a special education assistant and a tutor. My most rewarding experience as a tutor was helping a first grade boy learn to read. It was extremely exciting! I have also been a third grade assistant teacher in Bloomington, IN. I have been a substitute teacher for Warren Township in Indianapolis for almost two years, working in elementary and middle schools. I enjoy working one-on-one with children or in small groups where I can really see progress.
